We live normally in contact with the most significant source of energy for our planet, and almost never consider its importance as a solution to our problems of energy supply, without polluting our environment. Solar energy is the ideal alternative source, especially for some basic characteristics. It is abundant, permanent, renewable every day, does not pollute or harm the ecosystem and is free. In addition it is famous for its abundant sunshine. It is curious that the use of solar energy has been considered until recently a new or even a luxury item. In recent years, however, the use of solar water heaters became reality in a significant portion of households, industries, hotels, swimming pools and many other industrial and commercial applications. Technological change has made them more accessible, efficient and popular, to be demystified by both industry professionals and building society. We can say until they became a necessity, because of its advantages, both for the consumer’s pocket and for the environment. The solar water heater makes it possible to save up to 90% of the energy spent on heating water in residence every month. In other words, investment in the product back to the consumer’s pocket through savings in electricity bill.

Solar energy, on the other hand, prevents a lot of damage to the environment, because it is a non-polluting, renewable and free, especially if speaking in a tropical country. And even in areas where sunlight is not as intense and frequent, the evolution of equipment, especially of the plates, has allowed to achieve ever higher levels of efficiency in the capture of sunlight and the conservation of water temperature in the reservoirs. Expand the use of this energy source is great for saving and welfare of the citizens and the economy of the country, and though great for the planet. The use of energy generated by the sun both as a source of heat and light, it is now, without doubt, one of the most promising energy alternatives to meet the challenges of the new millennium. One of the possible forms of solar energy conversion is achieved through the photovoltaic effect which occurs in devices known as photovoltaic cells. When it comes to energy, one must remember that the Sun is responsible for the origin of virtually all other energy sources, it has been found that energy consumption from solar is becoming popular among people but still it remains as a new technology!
